The Rhode Island State Police Southern Public Safety Complex is a $41.3 million, 35,000-square-foot facility situated on a seven-acre site along New London Turnpike in West Greenwich. The complex consolidates operations for approximately 80 state troopers who previously served from the aging Wickford and Hope Valley Barracks, both of which will be decommissioned.
By centralizing operations at this modern West Greenwich headquarters, the Rhode Island State Police have enhanced their ability to serve southern Rhode Island communities with updated technology, improved infrastructure, and expanded operational capabilities.
The campus also features a comprehensive training center designed to support advanced law enforcement instruction. Training amenities include classrooms, physical fitness areas, challenge and exercise courses, a shooting range, overnight bunk rooms, and kitchen facilities, enabling multi-day training programs under a variety of environmental and operational conditions.
