The current DMV facility on Melrose Street in Providence has managed site flooding over the years, and the facility itself is aging past its prime. The Melrose DMV will continue to operate while the new facility is being designed and constructed. This project will allow for the continued and effective operation, as well as expand key services to the state. Additionally, demolition of the aging fueling depot on Pontiac Ave. will make way for the construction of a new depot – modernizing the existing infrastructure by allowing for electric charging stations and updated fueling services.
