Frank Beazley Exterior Envelope Project

Overview:

DCAMM is pleased to announce the start of construction on the Frank Beazley Building Roof and Exterior Envelope Project. Some of the highlights of this project are as follows:

  • The Slate roof surfaces at the east wings of Frank Beazley Hospital Building will be removed and replaced with a new slate roofing system.
  • Most of the 600+ windows in the Frank Beazley Hospital Building will be removed and replaced with new aluminum clad, energy efficient windows.
  • The Frank Beazley Hospital Building will undergo an extensive masonry reconditioning and repair project. This scope will involve repair and/or replacement of the limestone roof accents around the building, repointing of brick surfaces, reconstruction of the front entry staircase, and repair/reconstruction of the North elevator shaft.

The New Slate Roof will provide an estimated 100 year life offering protection to the building and its occupants. The New Energy Star Rated Windows with Low-E glass will maintain the interior environment; warmer in the winter & cooler in the summer while offering more natural light and energy savings. Restoration of the masonry façade, front entry stairway and limestone caps will complete this historically accurate project.
